Dad

No wonder I could not raise you on the telephone.

Hi Justin,
I actually think the 'Bowling Alone' argument has a lot of merits, although it's interesting how technology is allowing people to form community - or at least the sense of community - online that they lack in the real world.
And now for an anchovy-related question: have you ever had a Spanish variety called boquerones? They're really fantastic. Light-colored, lemony-tasting.

Justin Fox

Totally into the boquerones. You can usually get 'em at Zabar's, flown in from Spain in little plastic packets. I've got this thing I make sometimes (I got the idea from Po down on Cornelia Street) where I cook up some barley, put it into little mounds on plates, and lay boquerones across it.

Justin Fox

The Po version is actually served on a bed of faro, I learned while websurfing last night. But barley works fine for me.
